12/24/08: ADAM'S TAKING STEPS
Sumbitted by Bob Ferguson: Hard to believe that Adam is now 2 years old! Bethanie, our occupational therapist figured he would be walking by Christmas. We're close! Adam has taken about 10 steps. Stephanie or I usually support him using the sofa or love seat, and then encourage him to come towards one of us. Like I said, 10 steps! We feel his twin brother; Kyle is the one of the main driving forces behind the majority of Adam's developmental progress. Adam follows him everywhere!

11/21/08: SITTING
Submitted by Chad Seim: Chloe has been doing so well. She just turned 8 months old and a few days after that started sitting on her own for short periods of time. She has been rolling since 3 months and is getting the itch to crawl. Looks like Dad is going to have to put up the baby gate pretty soon!

11/18/08: PRE-SCHOOL
Submitted by Mike Adams: Along with Down Syndrome, our Addison was diagnosed with a inoperable heart defect known as Atrioventricular Septal Defect. The doctors gave her approximately a week to live once she was born. Taking her home on hospice, the last thing Elaine and I were thinking of was pre-school. Well, she turned three in February of 2008, and started pre-school this past August. When we got to preschool, she had already been there a couple of times, to check it out, while mom and dad talked to the teachers, therapist and nurses. We dropped her off and away she went, simply saying "bye" and blowing kisses to mom and dad, who were busy fighting back tears. It was a day we never thought we would see, and a day I'll never forget. She continues to amaze the doctors, and her parents, on a daily basis.

11/15/08: ROLLING OVER
Submitted by Karl Ostrand:
We are so excited that our 7 month old daughter Emme just rolled over! Our physical therapist gave us exercises for the first time about a month ago. We had no idea exercises could make such a difference. She actually rolled over sooner than our older "typical daughter." We learned first-hand to never underestimate Emme. She's full of surprises!
